words of al Hallaj
“ I saw my Lord with the eye of the heart
I asked, ‘Who are You?’
He replied, ‘You’. ”

words of Shams Tabrizi
“Don’t judge the way other people connect to God; to each his own way and his own prayer.
God does not take us at our word. He looks deep into our hearts. It is not the ceremonies or rituals that make a difference, but whether our hearts are sufficiently pure or not.”

will you still come
will you
still come
to see
me
now
that
everything has
been said and done
will you
still come
to see
me
though
maybe
you
have nothing
to say
will you
still come
to see
me
just
for
the sake
of
seeing me
will you
still come
to see
me
like
how I love
to see
you
will
you

I S
I S
does the above refer to Islamic State? perhaps. that’s what the world is saying. almost everyone who
is not in their right frame of mind I guess.
anyway, I beg to differ. big time. why? because it is
obviously plain to see that there’s nothing Islamic about this so called IS.
firstly, Islam promotes love. Islam protects the weak, old people, women,
children. Islam doesn’t advocate war just for the sake of showing strength and
arrogance. and definitely Muslims don’t simply kill other people, be them
muslims or otherwise.
so, tell me, which part of IS is Islam? tell me.
then, simply put, IS would better stand for International Satan. plain and simple. if they were to be religious bigots, the
first countries they would attack definitely will be Israel and America. but do
you hear of these two countries being bombarded, attacked, suicide bombers
having a field day, synagogue or churches being bombed? no!! never ever. not
that I am trying to instigate that these countries and all the places for
religious activities be attacked, but unless you are so naïve, gullible, or so
dumb, it is so obvious that this attack will never happen. what has happened is
that muslim countries are being terrorized, especially so in Syria and Iraq.
Muslims are being killed daily. massacred would be a better word. where’s the
United Nation? Where’s the Arab League? Where’s the OIC? Where’s NATO? all
these organizations are collaborators and instigators in the war that’s
happening now in most Islamic countries, be they Sudan, Iraq, Syria or Palestine.
so, I’m asking
again, which part of IS is Islam?
so sad to see
there’s no more humanity in humans.
the people
have turned to animals. worse than that, actually.

d umrah moments
Alhamdulillah when I was presented with the chance to
perform the umrah last December, I managed to do the umrah three times and
tawaf sunat twice. I spent most of my other time iqtikaf at masjidil haram.
the first time my wife and I went to kaabah to perform
our umrah, I was feeling nervous. I was afflicted with the sins I committed throughout
my life, thus, I was afraid that Allah wouldn’t grant me the opportunity to see
the kaabah. Alhamdulillah, when the mutawif brought us there, and when we first
viewed the kaabah, both I and my wife, did the sujud syukur. How relieved I was
that Allah had permitted me to see the kaabah, which was there right in front
of me.
The first time we were there it was at around 11pm. As
the time moved past midnite, the place was becoming more crowded with
congregates form all over the world. Alhamdulillah, we managed to perform the
rites for umrah by 2 am.
nevertheless, the third umrah stood out, in term of
soul satisfaction. my wife couldn’t make it so I was alone. I took my time to
do the tawaf and be engrossed in it. labaik Allah huma labaik. after tawaf was
done, I did solat sunat tawaf and other sunat prayers plus the doa behind maqam
Ibrahim. and that was the climax as I just couldn’t hold my tears. they were
streaming down my cheeks during tawaf, but at maqam Ibrahim, there’s no word to
actually explain the moment: the feeling, the submission, the bliss. I was
drowning in my own tears, sobbing for more than 5 minutes that brought
sensation to my eyes.
I had so much to say to Him that I felt ashamed in a
way. after another solat sunat, I made my move to drink the zam zam and perform
the saie. I did the saie with ease and in a serene mood. after tahallul, it was
another bout of solat sunat before finally leaving for the hotel.
all in all, I know that this is not the best
description of what really took place except what’s told is only the physical
part whereas the spiritual awakening is something beyond words.
I thank Allah for this opportunity. to sum up, it was
one of the best moments in my journey back to Him.
Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah.

gua hira' - my version
gua hira' is situated on jabal nur.
gua hira’ is not really a cave in the sense that there’s a gap @ hole in a hill. it is actually a space between a few boulders where the most, can sit only two persons. but if you were to pray, then it is meant only for a person.
gua hira’ is not really a cave in the sense that there’s a gap @ hole in a hill. it is actually a space between a few boulders where the most, can sit only two persons. but if you were to pray, then it is meant only for a person.
right at the end of the so called gua, there is a
narrow passage, facing directly towards kaabah. and gua hira’ is about 4 km
away from d kaabah. but nowdays you can’t see the kaabah because of the
concrete jungle. nevertheless, because of the clock tower, u know that the
kaabah is directly right in front of you though it’s far away.
i wonder how khadijah brought food for the prophet, or how did they manage to climb jabal nur because this hill is unlike the hills we find back home. this hill is sheer rocks and boulders.
the prophet is truly the chosen one.
