Sunday.
After the usual chores: abil and I swept the leaves
around the compound, arief swept along the corridor, nia swept upstairs, missus
swept ground floor; headed for breakfast at Dolah’s. normally I would water the
plants too but since it rained the previous night, I had my load lighten a bit.

home at kg Pasir Pandak |
Dolah’s café was situated by Kuala Batu Lapan, and I have
frequented it since my early days in Lekio. As usual I would call and order so
that once we got to the café, everything
was ready. For yesterday’s breakfast, I and my missus had nasi lemak with kari
ikan: ikan termenung freshly caught. The children, abil arief and nia, had nasi
lemak with fried chicken. I asked for two small glasses and one big glass of teh
tarik, and for side order, there were roti bako and half boiled eggs. Memang layan
la..
When I called Dolah, he asked me to come in fifteen
minutes time and since we were already in the ranger, I took everyone for a
drive through pasir pandak. Kg Pasir Pandak is an old village and the drive was
a pleasant one especially so with the serenity and rustic houses along the
road.

raining catS n dogS!! |
Once breakfast was over, we got home and everyone
continued on their work @ chore. After lunch at 3 pm it was time to send arief
back to Igop. Luckily I was not sleepy as I would normally be as I had a nap
around noon. The dark clouds across the horizon promised rain, and true to it,
the rain came. Almost all the way to and from igop, the rain fell from heaven
and at Lekio it was raining cats and dogs. Traffic was at a speed of 30-40kmh because
cars in front of me were cautious. I tried overtaking now and then but some
cars from the opposite direction couldn’t bother turning on their headlamps
which made overtaking a dangerous thing. I just couldn’t understand what’s
going on inside the mind of the drivers who just don’t care to switch on their
vehicles light as a precaution to other vehicles.
Alhamdulillah I got home in one piece. And after dinner, I was ready for bed, perhaps
due to tiredness and also because of the cold and damp weather.
And just like that, another day was over.
